Baby Clothes - Hints and Tips- The first thing to remember when buying children's clothing is, they must be comfortable to wear, easy to put on and above all else, washable.
- Get grimy soiled socks clean by soaking them in a water and washing soda solution before washing. White cotton socks can be revitalised by boiling them in water with a slice of lemon.
- Instead of bleach add vinegar to the water as an alternative.
- Your babys soft newborn skin can be easily irritated by regular detergents. Wash babies clothes separately using a mild detergent recommended for babies. You may need to spot clean before washing.
- Use a fabric protector to spray collars, cuffs and knees of garments, any spills will form into beads and can be easily wiped clean.
- Remember the feet. For infants young and old, keeping feet covered can be quite a task. If you go the route of using socks, this is not the time to buy in bulk. Even socks with a good amount of elasticity can slide right off. The alternative--especially good for active older infants who either pull off their socks or leave them in the dust--is to get pants or one-piece outfits with footies attached.
- Rub white shoes with a raw potato cut in half, or alcohol, before cleaning. Keep them white by spraying with hairspray This prevents the polish from coming off and keeps them looking new.
Baby Clothes - Safety Tips- The baby should be dressed in light layers to prevent overheating.
- It is important to use a sun hat if the sun is too bright as newborn babies have very sensitive skin.
Shoe Tips for Toddlers- Double up on favorites. If your child is particularly attached to a certain pair of shoes, or simply insists on wearing sneakers in general, consider getting more than one pair. In the event of a misplaced shoe or an irresistible mud puddle, your toddler won't be left temporarily shoeless.
